Fundació ACE has raised a total of 52,957 euros this September thanks to the Bonpreu and Esclat supermarkets rounding up campaign. This amount, obtained through more than 317,000 donations made by clients of these establishments, will be used to fund the "Caregivers’ Space" project, aimed to give training and support to relatives of people recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's or other dementias.
The main goal of this project is to provide adequate tools and resources to caregivers when addressing these types of diseases to improve the quality of life of the affected person. Each month, the Foundation conducts a total of 3 sessions of 3 hours, tackling topics such as dementia process, disease and symptoms management strategies, caring instructions, information on available resources and other recommendations to support the caregiver.
Since the launch of the rounding up campaign last February, Bonpreu and Esclat customers have already given more than € 530,000 to different social entities. The project consists in offering all customers who pay by credit card the possibility of rounding up the final amount of their purchase and making a micro-donation to a different social cause each month.
