Fundació ACE - Barcelona Alzheimer Treatment & Research wants to place Andorra on the genomic map of Alzheimer's disease and, for this purpose, will evaluate, for the second time, the memory of Andorran people in the Open Days that will take place next November 26 In the Principality.
The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness of the need for early detection of the disease. "The study will allow us to continue advancing in scientific research and accumulate data and knowledge that contribute to the development of a drug for people with a mild cognitive impairment of memory that can lead to Alzheimer's," says Agustín Ruiz, geneticist and scientific director of Fundació ACE . The co-organizer of the event, Fundació Crèdit Andorrà has invited him to give the conference Alzheimer: the challenge of prevention, which will take place at its headquarters next November 16. During the session with each volunteer, which will last approximately 45 minutes, Fundació ACE professionals will value memory, language and other functions. Participants will have a blood test and will be asked for demographic data (such as marital status, education level or work activity).
