The PreDADQoL team meets at Fundació ACE headquarters

PreDADQoL Team

The team of researchers that make up the European research project PreDADQoL, met on May 13th-14th at the headquarters of the Foundation to carry out one of its annual meetings in order to present the progresses of the project and define the next steps to follow.

PREDADQoL (Ethical and legal framework for Predictive Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease: Quality of Life of individuals at risk and their close others) is a project that aims to develop a normative framework (ethical and legal) that improves the counseling and communication of diagnosis for people who experience mild cognitive impairment.

In addition, the study, led by Mercè Boada, medical director of Fundació ACE, allows to tackle the perspective of people with cognitive impairment, as well as their caregivers and family members, and also approach how they experience the diagnostic process, in order to develop strategies to better meet their needs.

The development of this project has a transnational approach, given that the Foundation participates in this study with two German centers: the University of Cologne and the CERAS (Cologne Center for Ethics, Right, Economics and Social Sciences of Health).
