Extraordinary times require extraordinary measures. The current coronavirus crisis has prompted us to take action on the upcoming XII Barcelona-Pittsburgh Conference edition.
After conscientiously studying all the scenarios and given the uncertain and risky situation, in which many countries already prevent or advise against travelling, we consider that the best option is to postpone the conference to the 19-21 May 2021.
It is our duty to live up to the confidence that the experts and attendees have placed in us and our organization. We are willing to assume the cancellation of the conference to prioritize the health and safety of our speakers and chairs, attendees and the conference team.
The scientific committee of the conference has always had the firm will to design a conference that highlights the hard work of the speakers and promotes networking to build synergies and create networks that help science grow. That is why we do not want to lose the benefits of a face-to-face meeting and we hope you can already set in your agenda the dates for the Barcelona-Pittsburgh 2021.
As much as we are saddened by this situation, we do believe that in difficult times safety must come first.
Fundació ACE – Barcelona Alzheimer’s Treatment & Research Center and the Alzheimer’s disease Research Center (ADRC) of the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine organize since 1998 the biennial Barcelona–Pittsburgh Conference.
We work to offer a quality conference bringing together panelists of recognized national and international scientific prestige; and creating an interactive space related to neuroscience, with the ultimate objective of benefiting the affected people and their families.
Over the years, the Barcelona – Pittsburgh Conference has become a reference in the field of dementia. The conference is aimed at all professionals working with dementia, both from a medical and a socio-legal perspective.
