Fundació ACE is the driving force behind the Alzheimer’s Night, a charity act born with the aim to become an anual meeting point between the society and the world of research, treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.

The objective of the evening is twofold: to raise awareness about the need to invest in research to accelerate the fight against Alzheimer’s, and also to generate funds to a research project: Fundació ACE Healthy Brain Initiative (FACEHBI).

Castell de Peralada Foundation has made it possible for the third edition of Alzheimer’s Night, next Friday, July 20, from 7 pm, to be hosted at the Castell.

The celebration will combine its solidarity and sensitivity objective with a gastronomic and musical experience, with the “Una oda al tiempo” dance show by María Pagès, at the Castell de Peralada Festival, in its 32nd edition.

Alzheimer’s Night will also be supported by the Abertis Foundation.

This year, the benefits of the Alzheimer’s Night will be allocated to the FACEHBI project.

The FACEHBI project, promoted by Fundació ACe since 2014, is a study that allows a medical follow-up of 200 clinically healthy people who present subjective complaints of memory. The objective of this study is to investigate and define the relationship between these mild cognitive loss and the possible subsequent development of the disease.

Experts point out that initiation actions may be the key to developing treatments that will eventually influence Alzheimer’s.

The value of this study lies in the fact of having the collaboration of 200 volunteers over 50 who, despite not experiencing a diagnosed cognitive illness, are subjected annually to a series of medical tests (memory tests, analyzes of blood, magnetic resonances, etc.) in order to observe the physiological alterations that can be manifested in very early stages.
