Alba Benaque leaves the management of Fundació ACE

The general director of Fundació ACE, Dr. Alba Benaque, has decided to leave the entity to face new professional challenges. Benaque began her career at Fundació ACE - Barcelona Alzheimer Treatment & Research Center in 2018 and has served as Deputy Director and General Manager.

From her functions at the head of Fundació ACE, Benaque has been dedicated to the management of the institution, where she has promoted the continuous improvement of its services for the excellence and quality of all the activities carried out. From Fundació ACE, we are very grateful for her contribution and dedication during these years and we wish her good luck and success in the future.

Dr. Mercè Boada, co-founder and medical director of Fundació ACE, has expressed her appreciation for Dr. Benaque's dedication during her time at the helm of the institution: "We thank her for all her support, her intense work and the rigor that has characterized her throughout her career, especially during the last few months when the pandemic caused by COVID-19 has put us to the test and forced us to redirect all our services and care towards telemedicine, changes that we have successfully implemented".

Dr. Boada also said that she hopes that, in her new work environment, "Dr. Benaque will be able to continue helping and supporting people and be the great ambassador for people with dementia, within her new professional area".

Extensive experience in the health field

Alba Benaque has extensive experience in the health sector as, prior to her role at Fundació ACE, she worked as Sector Director for the Barcelonès Nord and Baix Maresme and as Director of Health Services Purchasing and Evaluation for the Barcelona Health Region at the Servei Català de la Salut.

Alba Benaque's experience has mainly focused on strategic and operational planning of health care, implementation of health projects and programmes and procurement and evaluation of health care services, as well as social research applied to people's well-being and quality of life.
