Alzheimer's in schools

Students from the FEDAC Sant Narcís school in Girona have recently visited the facilities of the Day Care Unit of Fundació ACE, as part of the role played by those responsible for the Unit in raising awareness of Alzheimer's disease and its consequences, both for the people who suffer from it and for the family members and carers in their immediate environment.

Also in recent days, the deputy director of the Day Care Unit, América Morera, has visited the Casal dels Àngels school, located in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), where she gave an information session with the aim of broadening the students' knowledge in this field and to deepen their understanding of the reality of neurodegenerative diseases.

All of these initiatives form part of one of the functions carried out by the responsible for the Day Hospital and Day Centre, such as raising awareness of Alzheimer's in schools and giving them elements to learn more about the disease and learn how to care for people with dementia. The visits have been programmed within the framework of the Professional Orientation Week.
