Dr. Mercè Boada, ambassador of Spanish medicine according to Diario Médico

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Diario Médico organized at the beginning of 2017 a ranking to choose the 25 ambassadors of Spanish Medicine. The initiative wanted to be a recognition of the work of the medical professionals who are representative in their autonomous communities and in their respective fields.

Dr. Boada has been recognized in this way for her career and her medical and scientific prestige and in addition to sharing the cover with the other 24 winners, the publication transcribes, in her last installment, an interview with the doctor.

The candidates for 25 ambassadors were previously selected by the Medical Association corresponding to each Autonomous Community, with the exception of the candidates from Madrid and Catalonia who were chosen by a group of experts.

Among the Catalan doctors was Dr. Mercè Boada, founder and medical director of Fundació ACE, which last year was awarded the Cross of Sant Jordi by the Generalitat de Catalunya. Dr. Boada is the author of more than 150 articles, 25 book chapters and 12 popular books. In addition, he has led more than 110 clinical trials since 1996 (he currently leads 18).

In the ranking anyone could register by registering on the website of DiarioMedico (http://www.diariomedico.com/mk/25_embajadores/index.php). Of the candidates, there would be two finalists: the most voted by the users of Diario Médico online. The final selection, which has formed the list of 25 ambassadors, has been made by a jury of experts.
