Fundació ACE will participate from October 16th to December 11th in the From Bubble project, an artistic and social initiative that will take place in Barcelona to explain and raise awareness on Alzheimer's disease. The project has the support of the Barcelona City Council, as well as entities and associations in the field of Alzheimer's and dementia which will propose activities to raise awareness among the public about the scope and effects of this disease.
On the occasion of From Bubble, Fundació ACE has prepared in the District of Les Corts, where it has a strong presence, a wide range of conferences, informative sessions, practical workshops and paintings exhibitions.
Among these, it is especially noteworthy the performance that will take place on October 29th in front of the Diagnostic Unit, the Center and the Day Hospital of the Foundation. In this action, which will start at 3:00 p.m., participants will be asked to snap colored stickers on the floor and the outside of buildings, simulating the accumulation of cells and proteins that takes place in the brain of a person with Alzheimer's.
In addition, Dr. Mercè Boada, medical director of Fundació ACE, will hold on October 30th the conference "The art of not losing". The lecture, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the Plenary Hall of the District of Les Corts, will tackle the functioning of the brain and the need for early diagnosis in Alzheimer's disease.
