We organize an informative session for the CAPSBE team

Professionals from different disciplines belonging to the Consorci d'Atenció Primària de Salut de Barcelona Esquerra (CAPSBE) have attended an informative workshop organized by Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona at its facilities in Les Corts.

The objective of the session is to establish synergies between primary care and Ace Alzheimer Center and exchange knowledge, projects and success stories to achieve better care and early diagnosis for people who develop dementia, as well as improve support and provide more resources to families.

The conference was attended by Dr. Mercè Boada, chief medical officer of Ace; Dr. Anna Riera, deputy to the general manager of Ace; Dr. Vanesa Pytel, clinical head of Ace; Dr. Montse Alegret, head of Neuropsychology at Ace; Dr. Pilar Cañabate, head of Social Work at Ace; and Dr. Ester Esteban, neurologist and head of training at Ace.

During the three-hour informative workshop, topics of common interest were addressed, such as the diagnostic circuit and the importance of early diagnosis of people with subjective memory complaints, biomarkers within our reach for diagnosis, the role of the neuropsychological examination, as well as the in value of the role of the social worker to build the best social strategies and a care model that benefits people with Alzheimer's and their families.

At the end of the workshop, the twenty professionals who have attended the training have visited the facilities of the Memory Unit of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona to see first-hand the work flow of the centre.
