We are INNOVATIVE SME’s

The Spanish Ministry of Science has just awarded Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona with the Innovative SME seal until 2024 for our leadership and innovation capacity in the field of Alzheimer's research.

This distinction is granted to Spanish companies that meet requirements such as:

• Having received public funding in the last three years and having executed it in a timely manner, without being revoked.
• Demonstrate innovation capacity by their own activity or by any of the official certifications of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

For Dr. Mercè Boada, co-founder and medical director of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, this distinction “is an endorsement and public recognition of the research activity we have carried out in recent years. From the beginning we have opted for research and that has made our team, today, an indisputable benchmark in Europe and in the world of Alzheimer's research”.

For Miren Jone Gurrutxaga, CEO of Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona, values this distinction very positively because “it will allow us to apply for grants that will enhance our research capacity. We have the professionals and we have the ability to design projects endorsed by international organizations such as the European Commission, such as MOPEAD and ADAPTED, but we need the institutions and the nation to provide the resources to support this first-rate research”.

Ace Alzheimer Center Barcelona will carry the Innovative SME seal until 12 July 2024, the date on which compliance with the assigned objectives will be reviewed.
